This course examines key concepts in health economics, using a Public Health perspective. Students will examine the factors influencing the financing of healthcare and Public Health in the United States. The course will focus on economic evaluation in a Public Health context including cost analysis, cost-benefit analysis, costeffectiveness analysis and cost-utility analysis. This course will explore health economic theories and the role of globalization, politics and the changing Public Health landscape in shaping health economic policy and healthcare financing.
