NUR 456 - Nursing Leadership

This course provides the students with the opportunity to self-reflect and enhance their capacity for leadership including accountability to the individual, society, and the profession. Students will learn how to develop a participatory approach to their role as leaders, comply with relevant laws, policies, regulations, and integrate diversity, equity and inclusion as core to one’s practice.  Leadership style, conflict resolution and different nursing frameworks will be explored to advance leadership knowledge and skills. Emphasis is placed on engaging in effective partnerships, consideration of the socioeconomic impact of delivery of health care, working effectively in healthcare systems and applying quality improvement principles.

Prerequisite(s): NUR 307 NUR 338 , and NUR 433  
Corequisite(s): NUR 452  and NUR 438
