NUR 307 - The Wellness Continuum II Credit(s): 7
This course provides the student with the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills to care for adults experiencing disruptions in health status associated with acute and chronic health conditions. The student will apply evidence-based knowledge and skills to the care of adults with alterations to body system functioning. Students will conduct comprehensive assessments, identify problems, and make sound clinical judgements to help clients maintain wellness or restore them to previous levels of wellness with a focus on preventing further alterations in health status. Emphasis is placed on effective communication with the patient, significant others and the interprofessional team while applying research-based knowledge from nursing, the sciences, and other disciplines including ethics, legal and human rights. Experiential learning takes place in acute care settings, practice laboratory and simulations.
