NUR 323 - Mental Health Nursing Credit(s): 5
This course creates an opportunity for students to comprehensively explore the mental health of diverse individuals throughout the lifespan, grounded in a holistic caring framework. Students will learn the range of clients’ responses to mental health issues within the context of person-centered care and systems. Emphasis is placed on understanding the complexities and intricacies of the brain and human behavior. Special attention is given to the origins of psychiatric disorders, exploring both biological determinants and environmental factors. A key focus of the course is for students to acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide holistic nursing care to individuals experiencing psychiatric disorders.
