LPN 109 - Maternal and Pediatric Nursing Credit(s): 6
This course provides students with the concept of family-centered care in maternal-child nursing. It provides the foundation for caring for childbearing women and their families, including the children from birth to adolescence. Cultural diversity in the childbearing family is explored, along with the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs. Emphasis is placed on the nurse’s role as a teacher in health promotion and maintenance. *This course includes a didactic component and 18 hours of Clinical Observation Experience*
