This course explores Black and African American history, unraveling the experiences, struggles, and triumphs that have shaped identity, access, and social justice in the American landscape. Students examine significant themes and interrogate pivotal issues and debates that characterize the Black and African American historical narrative from its ancient African origins to the present day. Emphasis is placed on the active agency and enduring resilience demonstrated by Black and African American people and their critical contributions to the American context.
