FNS 297 - Funeral Service Internship Credit(s): 5
Students experience the daily activities of a funeral home. This course is designed to deepen students’ understanding of how funeral service is practiced. Exposure to all aspects of funeral service is included with emphasis on embalming, restorative art, proper identification, removal/transfers, record keeping/funeral-related documentation, crematory/hospital/medical examiner relations and business management. Requirement: participation in ten (10) embalmings and participation in a minimum of five (5) funeral services. The student is expected to secure the internship site, with the approval from the Program Director and faculty.
Prerequisite(s): FNS 218 , Program Director permission and 2.7 GPA Offered: F, Sp, Su
