CHEM 101 - Chemistry

This course is a survey of general, organic, and biological chemistry designed for individuals who are pursuing careers in health-related professions. Students will build knowledge and skills sets related to the metric system and unit conversions, atomic structure and bonding, balancing and classifying chemical equations, calculating solution concentrations, applying gas laws, and identifying organic compounds, including biological polymers. Laboratory sessions are coordinated with the lectures and emphasize experimentation and application of the lecture content.

Prerequisite(s): Placement in or completion of ENG 101  and completion of MATH 125  or higher with a “C” or better
