MSN 670 - FNP II Advanced Practice Through the Lifespan-Primary Care of The Complex Client

Credit(s): 7

This course is the second didactic and clinical course in a series of three primary care courses for the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) student. Students complete 240 hours of a precepted clinical practicum in one or two approved settings, focusing on complex medical care for adults of all ages. Students will provide advanced person-centered care for specific populations including adolescents, gender diverse and mental health clients. Building upon NUR 660, the FNP II Primary Care course expands the FNP student’s opportunities to apply evidenced-based knowledge and skills to manage more complex patients with multiple comorbidities. FNP students advance their clinical, diagnostic, and healthcare management skills working intensively with mentors in interdisciplinary settings within systems-based healthcare. An on campus clinical immersion provides opportunity for students to demonstrate advanced assessment skills, engage in complex case studies, and additional collaborative learning.
