MSN 510 - Pharmacology for Advanced Nursing Practice Credit(s): 3
Students will learn and apply advanced principles of pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenomics and pharmacoeconomics. Information and healthcare technologies relevant to pharmacotherapeutic prescribing are explored and practiced through virtual clinical software and discussion boards. Quality and safety measures in prescribing are specifically emphasized. Students will explore the importance of interprofessional partnerships with physicians, preceptors, pharmacists, and pharmaceutical staff, when prescribing and communicating within systems. Best practice in pharmacotherapeutics prepares MSN students to consider cultural and socioeconomic factors for diverse populations across the lifespan.
