MSN 505 - Pathophysiology for Advanced Nursing Practice

Credit(s): 3

Advanced pathophysiology builds on undergraduate pathophysiology to expand knowledge of normal, abnormal physiology, and selected diseases of the human body. Cellular biology and genetics are examined, along with various disease states associated with abnormal pathophysiology. Emphasis is placed on the management of various acute and chronic diseases across the lifespan integrated with cultural and environmental influences. An in-depth understanding of both normal and abnormal pathophysiology informs the advanced practice and other graduate nursing students with the knowledge and skills needed to understand complex medical disorders and develop individualized, safe, quality plans of care.

Prerequisite(s): MSN 500  and MSN 605
