Industrial Service Technician Certificate

In this three semester, part-time, 18-credit Industrial Service Technician certificate program, students will learn how to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex mechanical and electrical industrial equipment. Students will learn how to ensure a safe, fast-paced manufacturing work environment and will be able to troubleshoot and identify any issues with machines and equipment as well as conduct and properly log repairs on the job. Areas of focus include basic electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic functions and how they integrate with mechanical drives and the properties of motion in an object. Participants are introduced to computer aided design (CAD) through SolidWorks.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of all program requirements, graduates will be able to:

  1. Apply basic manufacturing shop math principles and formulas to shop problems.
  2. Implement preventive and predictive maintenance processes and operations.
  3. Use common hand tools and electronic test equipment for basic troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
  4. Apply safety techniques to ensure a safe working environment while following industrial safety standards.
  5. Create detailed 3D drawings in CAD for blueprints and schematics.

Graduation Requirements

Students must complete all the graduation requirements as stated in the catalog. Students must maintain a GPA of 2.3 or higher in the coursework.
