NUR 364 - Public and Community Health Nursing Credit(s): 3
This course focuses on the client as a healthcare consumer and member of a community. Emphasis is placed on the nurse’s social responsibility as a citizen who advocates for the attainment of health equity for all, and the role the nurse has in considering individual beliefs, values, and personalized information in communications. Students will integrate community and population health principles and practices in the clinical management of populations across the age continuum. Students will create a proposal for a practice change to improve nursing care for the chosen community.
This course requires 45 independent clinical hours in the student’s chosen community.
