The course offers a foundation for students to learn concepts of wellness, illness prevention, and health promotion across the lifespan. Theories of development, learning, and personality will be discussed to provide students with a basic knowledge of human growth and development. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs will be used as a framework for understanding the motivations for human behavior.
