BIO 235 - Microbiology

This course is a comprehensive study of microorganisms and the diseases they cause. Topics covered will include the basic characteristics of prokaryotes, eukaryotes, and viruses. Laboratory activities include performing basic microscopy, staining, and identifying select microbial groups. Students will learn to apply various modern biological techniques used for controlling microbial growth and identify microbes on microscopic slides.

Prerequisite(s): BIO 120  and CHEM 101
